Denise Georgette Gordy wasborn on November 11, 1949, in Detroit, situated in the US state of Michigan.

"My aunt was unable to have children and I had one for her. Furthermore, Gaye would have had to face Berry Gordy, who spent considerable time, energy, and resources on preserving Motown's reputation.
