12. Fantasy Nightclub
Since moving into the former Circuit space, Fantasy has become a high-energy destination for drag, DJs and dancing well into the night—this club goes hard until 5am on Saturday nights (er, Sunday mornings).
Their motto — no cover, no attitude — applies every night of the week. One of the first American LGBT rights organizations, the Society for Human Rights, was founded in Chicago in 1924, more than 40 years before Stonewall. Those looking to dance the night away, sing and enjoy the spectacle of performers crooning in Spanish or dancing with giant robots and pyrotechnics (no, really), take the trip to 26th Street and you won’t be disappointed.

JEFFERY’s
One of the city’s oldest gay bars, Jeffery Pub is a neighborhood institution and one of Chicago’s first black-owned gay bars, making it all the more meaningful for the spot’s many regulars.
One of the city’s newest lesbian hot spots, it’s quickly becoming known for its classy, sexy vibe and great cocktail menu that includes elevated classic, extra boozy drinks, and alcohol-free/CBD options. A sports pub at heart, RPH is also one of the best spots on the far north side to watch the Red Stars and Fire, Premier League soccer and even rugby.
They have themed nights like “Blame it on the Alcohol Saturdays” and “Forbidden Fridays” with a rotating line-up of gorgeous and talented startenders.
The South Shore pub has incubated some of Chicago’s premier African-American drag queens, and regularly hosts amateur drag shows several nights a week.
